Learning and Curriculum at the Wooden Hill Federation

The schools in the Wooden Hill Federation is an inclusive educational provider that tailors learning to each pupil’s unique strengths and needs.

Core areas of the curriculum include:

  • Communication & Language
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development
  • Life and Living Skills

Students also study Literacy, Numeracy, Expressive Art & Design, and Understanding the World.

As they progress to Key Stages 4 and 5, the focus shifts to “Preparing for Adulthood.”

Positive relationships among staff, pupils, and families are crucial for recognising prior learning and fostering interpersonal skills. The school uses “Ipsative Assessment” to measure progress against each pupil’s previous achievements.
